Who are you?
My name is Valerie Metais, I did fashion design and modelling studies at ESMOD and graduated in 2006. I have worked as a fashion designer assistant for a Fashion Advice Office, then for a designer, before I finally took over the fashion design and production for a ready-to-wear brand.

Why did you choose to go into fashion?
I never asked myself this question. Fashion has always been a part of me, it was an obvious career path.

Could you describe to us your creative universe?
My style is feminine, simple and elegant.

What are your sources of inspiration?
They differ according to the tendencies and the current events. But I am mainly inspired by fashion from the 20’s and the 50’s (the times where women started to emancipate and take over the male wardrobe), Japan (men’s traditional clothing) and art (Yves Klein, Arman, etc.).

Could you tell us a couple words about your collaboration with MonDéfilé?
I am very happy with the jacket sold on MonDéfilé. The team is really interested in the emerging designers’ work.

What piece are you the most proud of ?
If I had to choose only one model in my collection, it would be the LINE jacket, because it is perfectly cut and very feminine.
