Why did you choose to go into fashion ?

For each one of us, it was obvious : the technicity of the garment for Anne-Sophie, and Aliseta’s interest for the street culture. Our ambition is to change the codes of French street wear and make it our own. Creation does not only limit itself to haute couture. Ready to wear offers infinite possibilities.

Could you describe to us your creative universe ?

Our first idea for RAV started from a joke during our studies : what would the « racailles » (slang term in French to name offenders from the suburbs) be if France was still a monarchy ? From a stylistic point of view, we base our designs on masculine shapes with graphic cuts and contrasted colors, which reminds street art. The fabrics and details we add reminds the 18th century.

What are your sources of inspiration ?

We take a lot of inspiration into music, history, which have always been our leitmotiv during our studying years. A very rock universe for Anne-Sophie, more hip hop for Aliseta. The bad boy image imposed itself for RAV.

How do you manufacture your pieces ?

Each one of us has its own pole of expertise : Aliseta on design and Anne-Sophie on pattern making. Once the research on looks has been done, Anne-Sophie determines whether it is possible to make the pieces or not. We then make the prototypes that we shoot, or lend to other artists. Finally, according to the number of orders we get on each style, we launch the production in our workshop in Paris.

Could you tell us a couple words about your collaboration with MonDéfilé ?

The collaboration that MonDéfilé offers is very interesting. To compete with other designers allows us to evaluate our work compared to compétition. On the long run, we would love to make several capsule collections with MonDéfilé, as it would give us good visibility and would be a very interesting expérience. More generally, collaborations are something we really appreciate and would like to put forward, as they are a real source of creation.

If you were to be a piece of clothing or an accessory, what would you be ?

Aliseta : For me, it would for sure be a pair of Air Force One of any color as this is a classical pièce that made its way from the street to well known designers (including a collaboration with Riccardo Tisci).

Anne-Sophie : a bombers. This jacket crossed history. Since its first use by the US air force, i twas then worn by workers, skinheads, then rappers.
