Armance Rotceig

Immersed in the world of fashion from a young age, it is natural that Armance should become a stylist. Her concept arose out of four jacket designs in as many materials as possible.

Who are you?

Full of dreams and energy, I try to live the best out of Armance Rotceig adventure. My aim is to give the idea that the garment can stand as an art piece. I come from haute couture and try to put my haute couture knowhow on more accessible products. During two years, I did some experimentations on cuts and fabrics as I tried to study today's women's tastes and needs.

Why did you choose to go into fashion ?

I've always lived in the fashion world. My great grandfather founded Weill brand and my two grandfathers were furriers. The idea to go for another job than fashion designer never popped up in my head ! My first word was "Chic mance" when I looked in the mirror as a child.. And this little girl has not changed much.

Could you describe to us your creative universe?

My universe ! It is based on the concept of four jackets presented in as many fabrics and colors as our desires and needs ask for. Timeless is what best describes my jackets. Rock or classic, basic or richly brocaded, it always sublimes the different moments of our lives. Made in France, the haute couture know how is at the heart of my brand.

What are your sources of inspiration?

Everything that surrounds me. I am very sensitive to painting and scuplture as my mother is a painter and I have always been influenced by volumes, fabric superpositions and all subtile mixes of colors.

Could you tell us a couple words about your collaboration with MonDéfilé?

I am very enthousiastic about the idea to participate in MonDéfilé adventure. It is a new way of communicating and giving visibility to young fashion designers.

If you were to be a garment or an accessory, which one would you be ?

A biker jacket …

"Give the idea that a garment is a piece of art."
