Bleecker Blues

Bleecker Blues

Emma Reyniex has always known she would be a fashion designer. When she was a teenager, she spent all of her money on fashion magazine such as Vogue Us and the Harper’s Bazaar to know about the latest collections.

Who are you?

My name is Emma Reynieix and I have been working in the fashion industry for more than 10 years. I started as a press attaché for Paul & Joe in Paris, then left for Florence, New York and Seoul to work for other great fashion brands. After 8 years of traveling, I chose to stay in Paris to start my own accessories brand, "BLEECKER BLUES".

Why did you choose to go into fashion?

I have always known I wanted to be a fashion designer. When I was younger, I spent all of my pocket money on Vogue US or Harper's Bazaar, spent hours reading fashion magazines, discovering the latest collections, etc.

Could you describe to us your creative universe?
I have a Rock universe, with a touch of humor. I love details on ready-to-wear clothes; they inspire me for my own collections. I like embossed or textured leather, the mix between matte and glossy textures… The work of the material is very important!

What are your sources of inspiration?

I’m inspired by neighborhoods in New York, like Bleecker St. and Bowery St., Lower East Side art galleries or Chelsea. I also like music of my generation and everything that surrounds me when I’m travelling.

Could you tell us a couple words about your collaboration with MonDéfilé?

MonDéfilé is a great opportunity to put one foot in the fashion industry. It mixes ready-to-wear, stylization, the Internet, and work with a dynamic team who is passionate about fashion.

If you were to be a piece of clothing or an accessory, what would you be?

A perfecto, of course!
