At MonDéfilé, our community is growing all the time. We continue to add new and exclusive collections to our catalogues conceived by emerging young fashion designers and manufactured by ourselves. Some designers, however, are regular fixtures – their collections continue to be some of the most popular and long-standing on the MonDéfilé website. Here is your guide to some of our top design talent.
As Roxane said in her MonDéfilé interview, a cut can be perfectly simple but still make a statement with a high-quality fabric. Meryl Suissa adopts this fashion philosophy, creating minimalist designs in luxurious fabrics such as crepe, silk, lace, and wool. The natural and muted colours of nudes and blacks emphasise versatility while the quality of the production speaks only of luxury. The Lace and Crepe Tank Top is a perfect wardrobe staple for Spring / Summer 2014. For a more urban monochrome option, choose the Black Crepe Playsuit and look to Amy Marietta of New York-based fashion blog Viviere Bella for exclusive MonDéfilé style inspiration.
Cl émence Cabanes’ unique jewellery, accessories, and small leather goods collections are given their characteristic edge from a fusion of influences ranging from folklore to art deco. Clémence founded her own label in 2009 after a decade spent in the art, music, and fashion industries. Delicate floral-inspired leather petals and pastel tones set against pale golds and silvers create a soft, dreamy collection that is ideal to be worn during the Summer season, particularly for a vintage bohemian look.
Isabelle Michel is an antique dealer-turned-jewellery designer expressing herself through a fusion of contemporary graphic and traditional couture influences. Her minimalist silver and gold designs are given added character through their unique multi-tier shapes or an added colourful glass jewel. Based in Paris, Isabelle Michel defines sophisticated French fashion with her selection of rings, bracelets, cuffs, necklaces, and earrings. The statement chain detail and bold metal curves are mandatory for contemporary jewellery but Isabelle Michel’s design talent gives her collections a flavour all their own.
Milkaya Laijah is currently celebrating her third year of collaboration with MonDéfilé and every vital, energetic collection by this young Caribbean fashion designer is extremely popular with our subscribers. The combination of delicate and edgy fabrics such as crepe, leather, and wool give her designs character even when she is only using her favourite colour – black. Contrasting panels in a variety of colours and textures make Laijah’s clothes a pleasure to wear, while the high-quality fabrics used to create them give them a timeless and luxurious condition. Make a statement and stay versatile with this Crepe Asymmetrical Jumpsuit or this Black Crepe and Quilted Leather Mini Dress.
