Who said scarves were for winter only? Sunny days are coming, but we really don’t feel like putting our favourite scarves back in the closet. They can be worn in so many ways (around the neck, as a belt, as a bag accessory, as a headband, etc.), they boost an outfit, and that’s why we want to wear them all year long. Here are our favourites of the season.
The large scarf
Timeless, the large square scarf can be worn whatever the weather. Whether it is a large wool scarf or a large silk scarf, it goes with any outfit. We love the Marble silk scarf by denovembre. worn as a poncho on a black leather perfecto with designer slim pants or designer high waisted pants. For chilly spring evenings, we would rather wear a large wool scarf like the Encre wool scarf by denovembre. or the Vertigo wool scarf by denovembre. that we simply wear around the neck. Warm and elegant, they perfectly fit a designer plain dress like the Milkaya Laijah short pencil dress or the Karine Amzallag graphic silk short dress.
More than a fashion trend, the scarf is also a beauty trend; this season, we include it in our hairstyles. For example, we insert in a braid a small designer scarf like the Astra small silk scarf by Suprême Bon Ton. A perfect detail for a bohemian look, composed by a crop top like the Lylee Blu jean crop top, and designer high waisted shorts like the high waisted shorts by the blogger Fringe & Frange. For a casual outfit, and a hairstyle adapted to a day at work, we totally fall for the denovembre. silk headbands. We love the denovembre. green Marble silk headband. We wear it with a designer playsuit like the Tessa Delpech backless playsuit. Sober, the blue and grey Marble silk headband by denovembre. should be worn with a designer shirt like the Emy Rigeot leather and crepe blouse and a designer suit jacket like the Noir de Cobalt leather and piqué cloth jacket.
Just like the look from the nineties, the bandana is coming back into our closets this year. And we love it! Our favourite one is obviously the classic red bandana brought back by Mona Sultan, like the ones we used to wear around the neck or on the head when we were 15. This season, as we explained it in a previous article, we wear it 5 different ways. Whatever happens, the bandana should be worn with an outfit inspired by the 90’s as well: a designer sweatshirt like the Louise de Testa printed sweatshirt, a leather backpack like the Frivole leather backpack by Darris, and jean clothes like the jean crop top by Angéline Dangelser.
The choker scarf
We discovered the choker scarf during the Christian Dior spring-summer 2016 fashion show. It’s a scarf that we knot tight around the neck and wear as a necklace. The ideal is to use a small designer scarf like the yellow Pliage scarf by denovembre., the grey Pliage scarf by denovembre., or the Rain small silk printed scarf by Suprême Bon Ton. Once knotted around the neck, we do not hesitate to accessorize it, with a designer brooch for example like the Foliage brooch Swarovski crystals or a Pièces Unique engraved porcelain biscuit brooch. Adding a romantic touch to our outfit, the choker scarf has to be worn with chic pieces: a designer trench coat like the cotton and leather trench by Olivier Battino, a long designer vest like the Elodie Oberlé medium length woolen waistcoat and large designer pants like the large wool pants by Tot.
