This season saw origami-inspired folds and layers make their way onto the Spring / Summer catwalks. J.W. Anderson and Marni were just two of the most influential high fashion designers to integrate this trend into their new season collections, with asymmetry, bold lines, and defined folds defining the look. This Spring, MonDéfilé channels origami by introducing Origami Jewellery’s latest collection. Check out our favourite pieces below !
Claire Naa and Arnaud Soulignac were originally taught the art of origami by a friend. After this experience, their passion for the Japanese paper-folding art grew and they begin to establish their own jewellery brand inspired by the craft. They describe their creative universe as ‘uncluttered, precious, innovative, and geometric’.
The designs each come in gold, rose-gold, and silver-plated brass, creating both a bold and minimalistic look, emanating character but retaining a certain versatility. They are this season’s accessory equivalent to origami garments on the catwalk, giving you the opportunity to channel this ancient Asian art form and wear it in an ultra-modern and contemporary context.
The silver boat necklace is one of the brand’s all-time best-sellers and also one of their most versatile designs, but we have picked a few more of our favourite pieces and included them here for you to explore and be inspired by !
